For the aspiring electric cellist, there's finally a 5 string solid-body electric cello that's truly affordable. Built at NS Design's facility in the Czech Republic, this NXT cello features the excellent build quality, materials, and fit and finish that have made the CR Series cellos a favorite for years. The NX cello uses the same Polar??TM pickup system as the NS Design CR cellos, but the system is passive, so there's no battery. Output signal is strong, and the tone is warm and beautiful when paired with a good acoustic instrument or bass amplifier. No headphone jack, but you can attach phones to your amp or effect pedal. This cello is a medium amber color over a flamed maple top, darkening slightly at the edges. The low F string can really rattle the rafters, if you have an amp that can handle the low frequencies!
